Jim is the founder and CEO of BrightEdge. He combines in-depth expertise in developing and marketing large on-demand software platforms with hands-on experience in digital marketing. Prior to founding BrightEdge, Jim was at Salesforce.com where he led a core part of the platform products team that delivered the industry's first cloud computing platform. At Aether Systems, Jim ran the product management team responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of the innovative Scoutware line of wireless products. At Mercator Software (now IBM), Jim directed the development of Mercator Integration Broker, an industry leading enterprise software product, generating over $100 million in revenue.
Jim is a known digital marketing expert, and speaks at conferences such as Share, Dreamforce, Adobe Summit, as well as Search Engine Expo and Search Engine Strategies worldwide. In addition, Jim is an industry pundit with regular columns in ClickZ, Marketing Land and Huffington Post. Jim is widely recognized as the driving force behind enterprise content performance marketing technology, having built the largest and most widely adopted platform which is in use by over 20,000 digital marketing professionals across 8,400 brands around the globe.
Jim holds an MBA from Stanford University, a Master's of Engineering from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from the University of South Dakota.
Lemuel is the founding CTO of BrightEdge. He brings 10 years of industry knowledge and experience in building enterprise class solutions for the largest companies in the world. Prior to BrightEdge, he was a manager at Ernst & Young where he led IT and security consulting projects for Fortune 100 companies across multiple industry sectors, including high-tech, financial services, health care, and insurance.
Lemuel and his team have been responsible for dozens of digital marketing technology innovations over the years and hold numerous patents for technology such as Search Share of Voice and Search Opportunity Forecasting.
Lemuel holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Joshua Crossman is BrightEdge's Vice President of Client Services and Strategy. He brings over 12 years of experience in digital marketing and software, including large-scale web media and content performance marketing. He previously was Vice President and General Manager at QuinStreet, the leading performance marketing provider, rapidly growing the traffic and revenue of a portfolio of hundreds web media properties and tens of millions of monthly unique visitors. Previously, Joshua spent eight years at McKinsey & Company as a leader in their Technology and Media Practice, helping Fortune 100 companies develop and implement marketing and sales strategies.
With over ten years of content and digital marketing experience, Joshua is a go-to-expert for BrightEdge's thousands of customers. He has personally led the content performance marketing strategy and implementation for some of the world's largest organizations.
Joshua graduated with honors from Duke University with dual degrees in Biology and Political Science.
Jim is BrightEdge’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for overseeing all financial and general administrative departments. He brings over 20 years of financial leadership from a variety of Cloud Computing and manufacturing companies.
Jim was previously CFO at Avangate, Appirio and MuleSoft. Prior to these positions, he spent 6 years at Salesforce.com including roles as Chief Accounting Officer, Interim CFO and head of the tax, treasury and internal audit departments. Jim also held various financial leadership positions at NotifyMe Networks, NBC Internet, LDM Technologies and General Electric Plastics.
He is a graduate of Principia College, where he earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, and Economics. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Financial Management Program.
Barrett is BrightEdge's VP of Sales. He brings over 15 years of customer focused sales leadership and senior management experience in software sales from NetBase, Integrated Decision Systems, MicroPatent and Thomson Financial Services. At NetBase, Barrett was VP of Sales and Support where he led the entrance into the social media market and developed a world class client roster of Fortune 500 firms that transformed the company. At Integrated Decision Systems, he was VP Of Global Sales where he drove customer acquisition and strategic partnerships, leading to record revenue growth and the acquisition by CheckFree APL. Before entering the software business, Barrett worked in Corporate Finance at NBD and Credit Lyonnais.
Barrett holds a BA in Economics from University of Colorado, Boulder and an MBA from Georgetown University.
Albert is BrightEdge's VP of Operations. He brings over 20 years of broad technology and senior management experience from Netscape, AOL, Sybase as well as venture backed private companies. At AOL, Albert was Vice President of Web Clients and Services where he led the team responsible for developing and implementing a new strategy for Search for Netscape and CompuServe, which culminated with the game-changing partnership between AOL and Google. Albert was also VP Marketing at Quantivo, Nominum, and Pivia (now F5), and VP Engineering and co-founder at Neuron Data (IPO as Blaze Software).
Albert holds engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris and Ecole des Telecommunications, Paris, and an MBA from Stanford University.
Brad Mattick is VP of Marketing and Products at BrightEdge. Prior to BrightEdge, Brad was Head of WW Product Marketing at SuccessFactors, a leading cloud performance management software company. Brad spent six years at salesforce.com where he ran the Eponymous salesforce automation product line, taking it from $500M to $1B in revenue. Mattick also led corporate product marketing and was a key member in the creation of Dreamforce and Salesforce messaging. Prior to salesforce.com Brad spent years at startups learning what is worth doing, and what moves the needle.
Brad is a recognized content marketing thought leader and has contributed to and published dozens of articles, research reports and market studies. In addition Brad is the executive sponsor for the internal deployment of the BrightEdge S3 platform.
Brad holds a BS in Computer Engineering and a BA in Japanese Studies from the University of Southern California.
Sammy is the Chief Architect at BrightEdge. He is one of the leading experts in the design and implementation of software architectures for handling massive amounts of data. Previously to joining BrightEdge, he worked at Digg where he built the search engine platform and introduced the popular concept of "query deserves freshness". Prior to Digg, he worked on large scale enterprise management software for nine years at Hewlett-Packard.
Sammy holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Tom is BrightEdge's VP of Business Development. He has over 15 years experience in business development, start-up management, and venture capital creating strategic business relationships. Tom was formerly VP of Business Development, of Corporate Development and GM of Business Development & Sales in Microsoft’s consumer services team in Silicon Valley, Senior Director for mobile & embedded device services in Redmond, and an Xbox Tiger Team member. He is also a former Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, where he co-founded a security technology company serving the US Dept of Defense. Tom has multiple patents pending in the fields of computer architecture, web infrastructure, distributed data systems, and security technology.
Tom has an MBA from the Stanford Business School, an MA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, an undergraduate degree from Brown University, and completed advanced studies in information technology at MIT.
